The mad scientist,
Who wanted to live forever,
Filled his syringe with sap
From a bristlecone pine
And injected immortality
Into his vein.

After being a widower one hundred seventy thousand times
And travelling across the universe twenty-eight times,
He was struck by lightning
On Planet Five of the Einstein System
And died one day before
His eight millionth birthday.

He’s buried next to Dorian Gray.
